It's here-31 days, 31 cities, 31 perspectives. Each day in the month of March, we're profiling an inspiring woman from across the world and asking her to share her beauty routine, products, and wellness secrets. Consider this your firsthand look into the beauty traditions and cultures of your beauty-obsessed counterparts from Thailand, Nigeria, and more (and don't forget to check our Instagram for a beauty-themed global takeover each day.) Up next is Maeve Madden, an Irish fitness influencer living in London (fun fact: She used to tour with Michael Flatley!). Madden's Instagram is a huge dose of refreshment-instead of perfectly curated, hyper-edited pictures, she shares her struggles with IBS, PCOS-even acne- among incredibly helpful and motivating fitness tips and videos.

What countries and cultures do you find most inspirational when it comes to beauty and why?

Beauty tips and tricks have been passed down for generations-my grandmother always told me to look after my skin and stay hydrated. I can't specifically say there's one particular country's regime I follow, as each has amazing beauty traditions. I love avocado masks from South America, argan hair oil masks from Morocco, oatmeal face scrubs from Ireland, shea butter as a body moisturizer from Ghana, Africa, matcha tea from Japan, and golden turmeric face masks from southern India/Indonesia.

The most popular beauty product(s) and brand(s) in your country right now: Everyone's going crazy for Fenty. I have yet to get my hands on this, but I'm looking forward to trying it. Also, Mario Badescu facial sprays, which are super for hydrating your face. I use these after the gym for a quick hydrating cleanse.

The most popular beauty trends in your country right now: For me, it's about using natural products on my skin. I have been mixing my own lotions and potions for quite some time. I use organic, natural ingredients, and I believe that clean will no longer be enough. Healthy, dewy skin-less is more. Everyone is rocking a gorgeous glow. I personally love this look, as I'm not a fan of heavy makeup or looking like a Kardashian.

Also, cell nutrition-100% organic natural marine plasma, containing 78 trace vitamins and minerals. This nourishes your cells, enhances metabolism and boots energy. It's Ireland's fountain of youth.

Favorite traditional beauty secret from your country: It may sound wrong, but don't wash your hair too often. I wash my hair twice per week, and I believe that's how I keep it healthy, thick, and strong.

Where you buy beauty products: I always buy my products from department stores like Harrods, Selfridges, Boots, or even the airport. We don't have a Sephora in the UK and Ireland, but when I travel abroad, I love indulging there.

What does “healthy living” mean to you?

Healthy living, for me, is loving and looking after your body to be the very best version of yourself. Exercising often, feeding your body clean and delicious nutritious foods, speaking positively, smiling often, and being mindful. Your healthy lifestyle is not a diet-it's about changing your attitude, mood, and general well-being.

How do you define/practice “self-care”?

For me, loving yourself and embracing all your “flawsomeness” is the greatest revolution. Not one single person on our planet is perfect, so I embrace my flaws, I compliment myself, and remind myself that I am enough. My favorite way of practicing self-care is speaking to myself positively-too often we critique ourselves. I enjoy indulging in R&R making a homemade natural face mask, nourishing my hair in oil, and making a fresh matcha tea.

What's your favorite way to stay active and why?

As I work from home, I really enjoy going to the gym, whether it's with friends or alone taking a class, I go every day-I aim to get 30 minutes of activity in each day. Boxing is amazing and high-intensity, but I also love lifting heavy weights or taking a yoga class. I balance my workouts like my body tries to balance my hormones. I really believe I get a super release of awesome endorphins, which helps my body and mind.

What's your favorite healthy meal?

Fish tacos. Yes, they sound unhealthy, but I have a fabulous home recipe we make a lot, especially for a family night. Who doesn't love fish tacos? We bake cod and make my homemade guacamole with an array of colorful sides. It's such a fun, healthy food to eat.

What are the most popular wellness trends in your country right now?

Right now we're all about gut health, which IВ love. I write a lot about gut health on my social media platform @maeve_madden. I think it's amazing that people are becoming more aware of the importance of our gut.

Also, reducing our use of plastic-I feel this is definitely a part of wellness, with fruits and veggies becoming the ultimate #zerowaste snack and usingВ Keep Cups for our morning coffee/matcha, not only saving our planet but money too.

Lastly, PCOS awareness, another of my current topics. As a sufferer of PCOS, I'm so excited that women are becoming more open about their body issues. We need to speak about this more, we need to empower women's health.
